The Dangerous Method # 19
Staněk, Jiří ; Kowolowski, František (referee) ; Mikyta, Svätopluk (advisor)
I'm working with photographs of Sigmund Freud's apartment and creating their pseudo reconstruction. I'm trying through technique of linocut uncover light from black and white photos taken by documentarist Edmund Engelman in Vienna in 1938. I'm revealing volumes of individual fragments, which light falls on. Exposed light I keep for myself, for some melancholy reasons, and store it in glass jars. It is negative and final linocut represents positive. Atmosphere of pictures from Edmund Engelman's book has a big influence on me as well as Robert Longo's cycle Freud Drawings. Their atmosphere is catalyst for my own art solution.
Pain of shapeshifting
Daniš, Vojtěch ; Lastomirský, Ján (referee) ; Mikyta, Svätopluk (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis entitled Pain of Shapeshifting follows on from the author's previous works, in which he dealt with topics such as nostalgia, communication with inanimate objects, the relationship between the living and the inanimate, past experience and change as mental and physical development (transformation). Now he combines these elements with new ones, with an interest in a kind of transition or "portal" between the waking and dream worlds. Interpretation of dreams, dream symbols, as well as pop culture references from fairy tales or mythological stories serve as a guide for the author. He compares the motifs of these stories with human characteristics and the development of their nature. He works with motifs where the protagonist goes through a transformation, whether it's going through a "portal" or interacting with a magical object. Alice in Wonderland passes through a "portal" in the form of a rabbit hole, in The Wizard of Oz this transmission is caused by a tornado, in Sleeping Beauty by a thorn, in Snow White by an apple, and so on.

Linocut in Art Education (Contemporary Printmaking)
Havlíková, Margita ; Raudenský, Martin (advisor) ; Gajdošíková, Pavla (referee)
The bachelor's thesis Linocut in art education (contemporary printmaking) consists of three parts. In the theoretical part, I discuss the characteristics of graphics, with a special focus on a linocut. I describe in detail the history of linocut in Czechia and the world and, subsequently, its place in contemporary authors' work. Additionally, I have clarified the concept of the terms "game" and "bestiary", that I use in the didactic and practical part. The goal of my work is to highlight the linocut and its technique as a convenient tool for art education classes. In the didactic part, I designed a series of lessons whose central theme is an imaginary animal. In the beginning, the students are motivated by the "Imaginary animal" game. Subsequently, they create a drawing proposal and then use it during the linocut creation itself. The bachelor's thesis is concluded by my own author's creation, which is based on the already mentioned game "Imaginary animal".

Kotočová, Lujza ; Pech, Milan (advisor) ; Bendová, Eva (referee)
The core part of the thesis is devoted to the lifework of a Czech artist Dana Jandová (1930-2014) with an emphasis on the graphic production, which came close to outweighing her activity in painting during the first decade of her career. In doing so, the intent of the work is to evaluate the artist's graphic production in its broader cultural and historical context. The thesis is accompanied by the summary catalogue of prints listed in thematic order.
